1. Indian captain Manpreet Singh created history, first Indian to win FIH Player of the Year

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has selected him as the best player in the year 2019. Manpreet Singh is the first Indian to receive the award after the award started in 1999. Manpreet Singh got the highest 35.2 percent votes.

Manpreet Singh was born on 26 June 1992 in Mithapura village in Jalandhar, Punjab, in a peasant family. He was awarded the Junior Player of the Year Award by the 2014 Asia Hockey Federation.

2. Know who is the son-in-law of Infosys founder Rishi Sunak, who was made finance minister in Britain

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently appointed Rishi Sunak as the new Finance Minister. For the first time in Britain, an Indian has been made the Finance Minister of the Parliament there. Prior to this, Sajid Javid of Pakistani origin had the charge of the Finance Ministry.

Rishi Sunak is the son-in-law of Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy. He is the second-largest minister of Indian origin in the Johnson cabinet. Priti Patel of Indian origin is currently the UK Home Minister. Rishi Sunak has also been a successful businessman before joining politics.

3. One Year of Pulwama Attack: CRPF remembers their martyrs in this way

4. Former TERI chief and environmentalist RK Pachauri dies

The current Director-General of TERI, Dr. Ajay Mathur said that Dr. RK Pachauri, the founding director of TERI has passed away. RK Pachauri was ill for a long time. RK Pachauri resigned as Terry chief in the year 2015.

RK Pachauri has so far played an active role in various institutions and forums related to climate change and the environment. He was educated in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Indian Railway Institute in Jamalpur, Bihar.

5. What is World Radio Day and why is it celebrated, know everything about it

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also given radio a new direction. They say ‘Mann ki Baat’ on the radio which millions use to listen to the radio. The theme of World Radio Day 2020 is ‘Radio and Diversity’.

The purpose of celebrating World Radio Day is to spread awareness among the public and media to increase the importance of radio. Advertising on the radio first started in the year 1923. This was followed by the introduction of BBC in the UK and government radio stations like CBS and NBC in the US.

6. New one rupee note will be released soon: know all the features of the note

According to the government release, this note will be signed by the Finance Secretary. Many watermarks will be used in it. The Reserve Bank of India does not issue this note like other Indian currency notes, but the Government of India prints one rupee currency notes.

7. The US Approves to Sell Integrated Air Defense System to India

The US has approved this deal worth 1.9 billion US dollars (about 13,000 crore rupees). Earlier, the US government had expressed its displeasure when India signed an agreement with Russia to buy five S-400 air defense systems for five billion dollars (about Rs 35000 crore).

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is also developing several indigenous air defense systems such as Aakash Mk1 and Aakash Mk1S. The Indian Army is also using the Israeli surface-to-air Python debris (SPYDer) system.

8. Ground Water Conservation Bill-2020 approved by Uttar Pradesh Government

The cabinet approved the act in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently. The purpose of this act is to improve the falling groundwater level in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has also approved the provisions of penalty and punishment against those who contaminate the groundwater level.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has recently formed a Gram Panchayat Samiti at the state level. Also, if the authority caught a person polluting groundwater through boring pipes, then the person would have to pay a fine or face punishment.

9. IOC gave lifetime achievement award to Pullela Gopichand

Pullela Gopichand has been given this award for the best work done in the country. Pullela Gopichand has been awarded the ‘Ensemble Mention’ in the men’s category of the award. He is the first Indian to receive the prestigious honor.

Pullela Gopichand was born on 16 November 1973 in Andhra Pradesh. Gopichand made his debut in International Badminton in 1991 when he was selected to play against Malaysia. Gopichand has also been awarded the Dronacharya Award.
