SIM Card Digital EKyc Update : Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued instructions to provide digital services to mobile holders. The last date for this has been fixed as 30th June. SIM will be deactivated from 1st July if KYC status is not met.
Big news has come for all mobile holders. Important information has come for those who have not yet done digital service of their SIM card. It has been made mandatory for all mobile holders to get digital service of their SIM card. Its last date has come. 30 June has been fixed, if any person does not get digital KYC done then the SIM card will be closed from 1 July, in such a situation the person will not be able to make calls on the mobile.
KYC has been made mandatory for consumers using both prepaid and postpaid SIMs. For this, it has been made mandatory to link the mobile number with the Aadhar card. This step has been taken for national security and to prevent fake use of SIM.
Those who had earlier taken a mobile connection by filling the customer application form and have not yet got the digital service done, will now have to get the service done immediately. TRAI’s guidelines are for all BSNL SIM cards. EKYC means linking the mobile SIM to the Aadhar card.
How is SIM card digitally serviced?
BSNL consumers can avail digital services by purchasing it with their Aadhaar card and taking it to any BSNL customer service centre or entertainment retailer store.
Those who use SIM cards of other companies will also have to go to the concerned center or entertainment retailer shop. The SIM user will have to go personally. Key verification will be done on the basis of thumb impression and Aadhaar. For example, if you have taken a Jio SIM, then you will have to go to Jio. You can avail digital services by visiting the center, for this you will have to keep your Aadhaar card with you.
